Steps Clubfoot Care

STEPS Clubfoot Care was established in 2005 to assist in eliminating the disability associated with clubfoot. STEPS works in partnership with health professionals and clinics to provide effective treatment in the state healthcare system that is scalable. STEPS supports 38 partner clinics through an award-winning programme model that is integrated into existing health infrastructure. STEPS’ influence and innovative programme has significantly transformed clubfoot treatment in the region. STEPS has trained over 1,400 health professionals, organised 23 training workshops, 6 global medical webinars, and organized the first global Clubfoot Conference.

National Mentorship Movement

The National Mentorship Movement exists to roll out volunteer mentorship at scale across South Africa to create jobs and social trust. Starting in 2016, we have been mobilising volunteer mentors who are willing to give back and matching them with those who can benefit from their support. We now have over 1 090 registered volunteer mentors and have facilitated mentorship support to some 1 650 people, almost 850 currently. We work with partners on programmes tailored to their needs and those of the beneficiaries. It works - well over 90% of survey respondents would recommend the programme to others!

Book Dash

Book Dash is a South African non-profit picture book publishing organisation with global impact. Given research on the impact that owning books makes on a young child’s lifelong trajectory of success, our vision is that “Every child should own a hundred books by the age of five”. However, existing market-driven publishing models weren’t able to provide books for all. Book Dash developed an unique 12- hour publishing model to produce high-quality, but cost effective picture books for all young children. Over 3 million physical Book Dash books have been distributed to children and families to own, supporting 180+ local literacy partners in their work.

forgood

forgood is an online platform that connects people who want to make a difference to the causes that need their help. A social enterprise that provides a free public service, forgood also generates revenue by providing a hosted SAAS (Software as a Service) product that streamlines and manages employee volunteering programmes for some of South Africa’s biggest corporates. People were getting tired of painting walls and planting gardens and there was a gap to connect corporates deeper into the social sector and expose a broad range of activities that their staff could do to “give back”. Think Tinder, but for the social impact sector - connecting people that want to make a difference by using their skills, donating goods or money, to the causes that need their help!

Faded Black Innovations

Faded Black Innovations is a non-profit organisation that focuses on inclusive economy for traditional non-profit organisations and income generating projects in townships, rural and semi-rural areas. Our main objective is to expand their capacity to achieve greater effectiveness efficiency, sustainability and most importantly financial stability. We do this through our social entrepreneurship and incubation program. We believe that by making NPOs stronger, we create the ripple effect that enables each NPO to provide better services and increase impact in communities. Our ultimate desired social change is to see more non-profits moving from donor dependency to being social enterprises and later be impact investors in their own communities.

Women Economic Assembly

WECONA was launched in October 2021, by the Office of the Presidency, as a multi-stakeholder initiative as an effective response measure against the National Crisis of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide. The Women’s Economic Assembly was birthed as a women-in-business driven program for deliberate action out of the supporting mandate emerging from Pillar 5 of the Gender-Based Violence and Femicide National Strategic Plan (“GBVF - NSP”), which is wholly dedicated to “Economic Power”. WECONA’S goals are to be a coordination platform for the Public and Private Sectors, Civil Society, Business Associations and Women in Business and to be an activator and catalyst for commitments and actions aimed at women’s economic empowerment in South Africa.

Burj Al Luq Luq Social Center (BALL)

Burj Al Luq Luq Social Center (BALL) is a Palestinian NGO set up in 1991, based in the Old City, Jerusalem, with a long-standing experience of social and cultural services provision, mostly for children, youth and women. In the Old City, Burj Al Luq Luq represents the only open space for youth and children: it offers basic and essential social free services to Bab Hutta population. The center has a key role for Palestinian resilience in East Jerusalem, due to its position and to the Israeli control over the area. BALL is a unique resource available for women, youth, and children in the Old City in Jerusalem, in light of the lack of clubs and spaces designated to this targeted population. A non-profit organisation that advocates for the health and well-being of children and teenagers diagnosed with cancer or life-threatening blood disorders and their families. The passionate and dedicated staff and volunteers of CHOC aim to save lives through early detection and comprehensive support programmes for the families affected by cancer. CHOC comprises of numerous stakeholders ranging from the hospital administrators, medical fraternity, volunteers, donors, partner NGO’s and full-time staff that all unite to walk with patients and their families who require oncological support.
